Polygon portrait artist reflection:
The strongest part of my art work is most of the shapes look
like triangles, and the shades of each triangle. I can improve on making the shapes look more
like the original picture. If I gave myself more time on this art piece I would
make sure each triangle touched and none of them would overlap. For this picture I used the pen tool, the eyedropper
tool, direct selection tool, and the color grid. I used the pen tool to trace
the faces and facial features first then I connected the points to make
triangles. I did the same for the rest of the picture. Then I used the direct
selection tool to select each triangle individually and I used the eyedropper
tool to add correct color within each shape. The easiest part about this art
piece was filling in the triangles. It was a lot of work but it was the easiest
part. The hardest part about this art piece was tracing the picture to match it
perfectly and connecting points. Because you would have to find the right two
points to match together so the picture would have lines crossing each other
and etc. I was able to demonstrate the use of stroke and fill by outlining the
picture and filling it with the appropriate color. If I was assigned this again
something I would do differently is try and make different shapes, and focus
more filling in each triangle and little details like the lips and eyes and
eyebrows. I would rate my effort a 8 because I didn’t try as hard as I should
have and didn’t focus on the little details .
