Polygon portrait artist reflection:

The strongest part of my art work is most of the shapes look like triangles, and the shades of each triangle.  I can improve on making the shapes look more like the original picture. If I gave myself more time on this art piece I would make sure each triangle touched and none of them would overlap.  For this picture I used the pen tool, the eyedropper tool, direct selection tool, and the color grid. I used the pen tool to trace the faces and facial features first then I connected the points to make triangles. I did the same for the rest of the picture. Then I used the direct selection tool to select each triangle individually and I used the eyedropper tool to add correct color within each shape. The easiest part about this art piece was filling in the triangles. It was a lot of work but it was the easiest part. The hardest part about this art piece was tracing the picture to match it perfectly and connecting points. Because you would have to find the right two points to match together so the picture would have lines crossing each other and etc. I was able to demonstrate the use of stroke and fill by outlining the picture and filling it with the appropriate color. If I was assigned this again something I would do differently is try and make different shapes, and focus more filling in each triangle and little details like the lips and eyes and eyebrows. I would rate my effort a 8 because I didn’t try as hard as I should have and didn’t focus on the little details .
Typography artist reflection:

I feel my strongest parts of this art piece is the overall shape. If I was a viewer and I was looking at the art piece I would be able to right off the bat know it is a turtle. One part that I can improve in my art piece is adding more details. Like adding eyes, a mouth, little things like that. For this art piece I used the pen tool to trace the turtle. Then I used the type of path and, the area type tool. I used the type on path tool to type in words for the outline of the turtle. Then I filled in the area of the turtle by using the area type tool. The easiest part about this project was just filling in each spot with words, because all I had to do was type a word and copy and paste is until it filled the spot I wanted to be filled. The hardest part about this project was trying to make sure it looked like a turtle. I was able to demonstrate my goals, by taking this image of a sea turtle and turn into a picture made out of words and different colors. If I could do this project again differently I would take more time to complete it and I would pay more attention to the fine details and not just the outer side of the shell of the turtle. I would rate my effort a 9 out of 10 because I put a lot of effort into it but I just didn’t pay attention to adding the little details.
